About Miss Potter

My name is Cassandra Potter and I would love to take some time to welcome you to my classroom and blog!

In 2019, I decided to take a big leap across the pond and pursue a long time dream in teaching overseas. Currently I am teaching in London and absolutely loving the experience.

Usually, this is a site where you can keep up to date with what's going on in the classroom and what fun activities and learning we are up to! As a viewer you are going to see students discovering, experiencing hands on learning and a sneak peak into our classroom routines.

First, let me tell you a little about myself.

I was born in St. Albert and grew up there with my 5 younger siblings (who have all somehow surpassed me in height - how is that fair?!?!) My eldest brother has just graduated in 2019 to also become a teacher. My two eldest sisters are going to post secondary universities for business and social work and my other sister has made me an auntie recently with her beautiful little girl. My youngest sibling is still in high school, but only one year left!

Some things I really enjoy doing in my spare time is curling up with a good book - I really enjoy a thriller with a twist ending.

When I can I try to make time to travel! I have so far crossed off Central America (Costa Rica, Mexico and Nicaragua) and South Thailand, a few countries Europe and Australia! In total I have visited 17 different countries and four out of seven continents.

I have gone to various places all over the United States and love a good theme park! In the past years I have gone to Orlando and visited all the Disney Parks and Universal Studios (Harry Potter Park was the best!).

My teaching philosophy is to ensure that every student receives the learning experience they deserve in a safe and comfortable environment. This means lessons will be active, engaging and set up depending on student interests and needs.
